Ok, real quick question:
On the two speed wiper/washer switch how do you activate the washer pump? Do you push in on the switch?
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks! That's what I thought, but wanted to make sure. I have never hooked up my washer tank and will be doing that soon so I wanted to make sure how I activated the washer pump.

Still working on getting it all switched to black. I also have some floor pans that are going to be coming to get welded in to replace the back ones that rusted out and then I have the new carpert to put in after that is done.

When I put new carpeting in the R/T it took awhile, but it turned out very nice. There is alot of trimming you have to do to get all of the seat belt trim to lay wright , but in the end it looks nice. Did your counsel have carpeting on it? Mine had some small pieces, so to make sure it matched, I ordered some extra.

Yes it sure did have some on it, I have removed the old and will be installing some pieces on it. I also need to replace the carpet on the back package area (where speakers would go).

Your car has carpeting on the package tray???
Was that an option? I thought package trays were just painted masonite boards.

Aspense, I dont think that the trays came with carpet on them either. I wonder if someone put that on kcfan58's car sometime before he owned it.

All the ones I have seen including mine are just painted masonite. I am going to cover mine with headliner material with what is left after I cover the ugly perf board headliner with it.
I bought the headliner material at Pep boys.

Just to make sure, we are talking the area under the rear window between the back seat and the bottom edge of the back window right? If so mine does have carpet on it. I don't know who put it there though.

Got the speedo working, it was on the wrong mark for the gear in it (it has a 31 right now). Also it does look to be the 3.91 rear as when I spin the rear tire I got as little under 4 rotations of the drive shaft.

That's right Mike. I think you're right in that somebody must've installed it there because as far as I know package shelves always came bare on F-bodies.

Ok, I took the rest of the interior out yesterday to paint, and found that the package shelf that came with the car is gone, the carpet in the back is glued to a piece of cardboard they cut out to fit the area.
I will be redoing this!

Cardboard? Ni-i-i-ice!
Pressboard is all the package shelf in my Torino is made of. I bought a new one from Dearborn Classics on sale a couple years back for $20. I think they're back up to $35 now. But the one I have warped from the Texas heat. So I'm thinking this time I'll wait for the next sale, pick up another, make speaker cutouts, then put carpet over it for protection. This will also give me a chance to (while it's out) POR-15 the heck out of the metal under it and swap in some better speakers.
I have to say most of the other cars I've owned from the 80's up had carpet on the package shelf. It's a nice addition and adds protection as well as looks more complete when it's there. Can't say the same for carpeted dash covers, though, I still don't like those much except on things like conversion vans. But what bothers me most is seeing an old work truck with a rubber floor, but carpet on the dash. Do what?
