76 -77 1/2 gas tanks are unavailable. You can buy a reproduction sending unit on ebay. VANS auto I think. I have a used tank and sending unit I may let go of.

The Van's sender is a good piece of gear unless you are a weirdo like me and have California emissions. Van's has a fuel supply, and there is a vent in the top of the tank. Mine also needed a fuel RETURN in the sender. Not very hard to fabricate if you are handy in that way. Or you could just eliminate the return line.

The 76 tanks seem to be equal parts unobtanium, rarium, and noseeum.

It should still work. You would have to replace the fuel filter that has three nipples with the non-cali one that just has two.

Thanks ive already done all that , I was wondering what the difference was . is that extra line just a return ? I vaguely remember dealing with this , just kind of caught my eye seeing someone have the correct sender cause when i got this one I was baffled but made it work . I guess there's no sense in getting the cali one if I've removed all the emissions crap anyway .

sorry to highjack the original post

Not sure if it is a return line or not. If it is part of the tank venting then you could have issues I don`t know. I`m not familiar with that setup.
