    AM FM Cassete for 79??

Anybody have a old working unit in nice shape kicking around? Willing to ship north? A friend of mine with a 79 Duster is looking for one.

    Thanks for looking.

Probably will find one on ebay I`m sure. Did the 79 come with a 8 track or cassette? Just wondering?

Checked the service book. Both apparently. That being said I was using my 80 version.
Just thought I'd check here first for him. I'll go that route for him if no success here.
    Thanks for the response.

I tossed one a while back that the cassette didn`t work. I don`t think I have another. I think it was a early 80`s unit. I always liked the coolness of the 8 track. I have a 8 track in my car and it is getting harder to find good working 8 track tapes. Even some new unopened ones were garbage from age.

I mentioned the 8-Track thing. More interested in the cassette. Right now all he has is the original AM version. So no radio at all. No AM channels left in our neck of the woods.

Don't have one, but the ones you want would be late 80's Infinity, thru to 00's where you could get cassette/CD. Some have 3 band, others 5 band EQ. They all put out good sound with a booster amp behind them, some had that from the factory. You can probly pull a decent one out of a 90's - 00's Dakota or Durango locally.

10-4 Matt. Thanks. Yeah I have one of those. Came out of a Dakota. I'll let him know I came up short handed here. I'd just give him the Dakota one if he wants but I think he want it to look original. Thanks again Matt.

I'd imagine a 70's factory cassette deck would be harder to find than an AM/CB. Lots of 8-track players out there tho. I think Eric just listed one of those not long ago.

I have this unit, which I believe to be a dealer installed option. It's an Audiovox SPS series. I had it in my car for a few years , but switched back to 8-track this summer. It was a working unit, although the cassette volume was a bit low. I'm not really sure I want to sell it, but I would trade for a set of A body shock plates for an 8 3/4 or 8 1/4 rear end.Click image for larger version.

Thanks for the reply Custom. Look I'll let him know. He might have something kicking around. But he's kind of like me. He use to have a few parts kicking around but cleaned up too many times.

Would you be willing to sell it out right? Me and the wife are going over there next month for our vacation. Not going anywhere in particular just a drive. 10-4
But if you would be willing to sell I think he would take it. I took a picture of it on the screen and I will show him tomorrow at work. Nice looking unit for sure. I would say mint.

Thanks again Custom Coupe, please let me know one way or the other.
