Default What to do about 'Car Hoppers'

Car Hoppers are scum who break into cars during the night, hopping car to car.
I got hit AGAIN on Sat night/Sunday morning. I just realized their BIG score. A dollar store clock in the winter car. Oooo...it had a AAA battery too. Big bonus!

Got hit @ a month ago too. They got 60 cents, a bic lighter on it's last legs and a empty pack of smokes.

Is it really worth dying for that crap? Because one day I will catch them and go insane. I'd LOVE to hook the car up to 220 and run a soaker hose.
I think I will buy a baby monitor and place one end under the seat/locked in glove box. I think they will be back. Maybe I'll look into a camera too. The baby monitor would be like a silent alarm though.
    Suggestions?

Yeah Doc I feel your pain. When I trucked, my car and later truck would get hit a few times a year. I'd report it to the police just in case some one else had somthing more valuable stolen. Never really got anything of value from me just a few cents. But they would ramsack my interior looking. Once they broke my mirror off and busted my door handle. It wasn't much of a car just a hyundai beater car for the winter. Thats why now a days I never lock my truck when at work. I got hit last year at work when they got my Mag penlight. I had that flashlight for 15 years or so. The BAS---DS!!

I think the worse I got was when the dome light stayed on, on a weak battery. So I had to charge the battery before I could move cars that day.

Now there was other 'crap' in the winter car they didn't take. They didn't want a bottle of ATF, a snow shovel, vice grips, robertson, 12v air pump, washer fluid, ect. The other car had 24 cents.

Once I had my 'yarding' coat stolen. Why??? It's not a homeless score, just a tard score.

Here's a quick solution....sleep till 10:00 PM wake up drink some coffee...stay up all night long and them when you see them breaking into your cars. As long as it's dark and they are stealing your stuff here in Texas all is fair game.
