SHE DROVE ON THE ROAD ! 1st time since I got the car about 8 years ago ? I can’t even remember exactly when I got this car , I think t was 2010? Got insurance on Mon for the road, then today after work got the plates registered and a T temp sticker , so was Legal Eagle , went & got $30 in gas can & poured in car & fired her up, grabbed my daughter & we headed off towards a town 20 min from here to fill er up w Ultra 94 ( they don’t sell 94 octane very many places ), started giving it some good throttle but only made it 15km ( about 10 Miles) and saw smoke in rear view...pulled over & popped hood .. oil blew all over right side of engine & headers ... had to limp home at 20km hour ... only thing I can figure is it blew out of dipstick tube, which I’m pretty sure this engine has excessive blow by, maybe some bad rings or blown head gasket? . I kinda knew this 318 wasn’t the healthiest but figured I could roll for the summer on it. I had installed a dual inlet oil/ water seperator that both valve covers breath into and then flow back to air filter , there was only water in the catch can & no oil at all in the air cleaner. I guess I will do a leak down test first but I am assuming this engines gotta go, well maybe for the best it’s happening sooner rather than later ..... engine runs really good at idle! Can barely hear it idling just smooth ! Sucks that under load it’s puking oil ... it can’t be good

The oil issue sucks - hopefully it isn't a big issue.

Ah, no biggie, I'm over it, this engine was only meant to be temporary anyway...I could have the crankcase ventilation messed up the way I have it, I will try a PCV today and change
the way the air/oil separator is hooked up and hope for the best, but I have a feeling the rings or a piston is probably pooched. Just gives me an excuse to put a better engine in. This will still allow me to get the car to the garage to be safety certified so I can get my proper plate sticker, then the car will be permanently on the road and I can deal with the engine after.

Thanks John , means a lot . Glad I could ressurect your old car .
Well , I got it all safety checked so I can get the validation sticker for the plates now ! It did not need anything. The mechanic doesn’t think anything is wrong with the engine, just has a phantom oil leak so now I gotta get some dye and try and track it down
