Default Fiberglass front and rear bumpers

I just finished aligning the fiberglass bumpers, man did that make a huge difference! I was looking at it last night and thought the front bumper had a little too much angle to it (as you can see in my sig picture) -- so I welded some new bracket to kick it out the bottom a little more. FYI -- these are 1973 fiberglass Duster bumpers.

I'll post some pics on the before and after.

Just curious, do you know what weight savings you got with the fiberglass bumpers? You have a great looking car there, never would have guessed the bumpers were Duster items.

We estimated that the 1980 railroad tie bumpers with the oil filled shocks/brackets came in at 300+ pounds.

All I can say is ...WOW. As a drag racer, I am always conscious of weight. I like to remove all unneccessary brackets and braces as well as swap out for lighter components (i.e., lightweight late model starter-9 lbs saved). With daily drivers, you have to balance things out compared to street machines or race only vehicles. Still, I have to admit it is hard to resist that kind of weight savings. It's funny too, that my 07 Magnum R/T has styrofoam bumper reinforcements and my 79 Volare has heavy steel beams.
    Times, they are a changin'.
I look forward to pics of the adjustments you made.

Here are a couple shots showing the new angle of the fiberglass Duster front bumper. This winter I plan to add 1 1/4" round bars tied to the frame behind the bumpers for added safety. I would think both bars will only weigh in around 30 pounds or so.

Original test fit of fiberglass bumpers.

So where did you get the bumpers? That looks really nice, I like the white out look.
