What did you do to your F today?

I'll open with tweaked my mixture screws a hair. It's been getting leaner lately with foot off pedal. No lean condition at all with high vacuum if the pedal is touched and all my leak tests come out clean, so I don't think it is a leak. Maybe my screws moved again on their own (not the first time, but I wrecked the loktite by moving the screws when I took a roadtrip to a land with air), or maybe I somehow got some muck in the needles.

Messed up my spark timing tonight. I thought I would try a bit more advance to see if I could get torque and mpg up. Now I'm back to really getting hot going up mountains. I'll have to clean off my balancer and freshen the marks, or go get another dial back light.

uh yeah, not looking forward to that. My garage loves setting timing at 8* although I specifically told them not to, must be a Ford/GM thing. Getting at the damn distributor bolt is difficult enough at it is, even with a dedicated wrench but it always feels like they torqued it down with an impact wrench.

I have a wire lead on my wrench because the little coupler doesn't hold on and I've had to fish it off the top of the trans several times.

I was set in the 8 to 10 range. 14 is not working for me unless maybe I back off the vacuum.

My dial back light was junk and died. Now I'm going to mark the balancer so a standard light will let me check each part of the settings.

I took a long box wrench and bent it up. fits great never a problem. I only get about 1/4 +turn but sure beats fishing for sockets or stripping the bolt. Chevy mechanics tighten the hell out of their cam bolt. because they use a locking lever style hold down. Mopars don't need the same torque. (some of the bolts are even brass)

I bent a cheap box wrench 35 years ago and I still use it today. I have a distributor wrench and never hardly used the thing. I like my homemade job better.

    Nothing - I'm done! LOL

Not really, just working on the 340 Duster. I'm installing a new water pump and radiator. This heat makes it tough, but luckily we have a Portacool evaporative cooler.

I can't wait for a trip back to Tomball to take mine for a spin again.

Same here with the heat. I'm doing as little as possible outside until well after dark.
