I put the transmission into place where I wanted it to end up and all fit ok so this is the final fit picture before I installed the cross member.

I purchased an aftermarket adjustable cross member and a Chevy two bolt trans mount and worked with it until I got it into place where I wanted. I guessed at a 3" drop on the cross member and got lucky it worked perfectly. I welded some plates to the outside of the sub frame connectors and bolted in the cross member. I then went to PATC and got an $85 kit to help with the operation of the overdrive and lockup. I then had a driveshaft made and tried the operation of the transmission out before I took it and the engine out of the car.

Eric that is the engine that I built in the mid to late 80's that still runs and doesn't smoke or use/leak any oil. I pulled it out after I made sure the overdrive transmission worked. I have not made it to the update on the engine part yet. There is still a long way to go before this thread is caught up.

I turned my attention to the engine bay and took everything out of the bay including the hvac housing in the interior so I could power wash, strip, epoxy primer and epoxy paint and clear coat the engine bay. I also took the suspension completely apart and had all the parts that were not replaced powder coated. There has been a lot of pictures during this phase lost, SORRY fricking windows 10.
