    Got the calipers cleaned and clear coated this morning and put them on this afternoon. Need to bring the pressure bleeder home from work and bleed them, along with changing all the fluid, front and rear. Got no way to try them out anymore this year (meaning salt) but I'm hopeful the brake problem will be fixed.

    No photo it didn't happen, so...

    Rich, those brake pads aren't EBC pads are they?
    Have you had any experience with them?
    What's your opinion of them?

    They are EBC pads, Yellow Stuff obviously. I have no opinion yet, they've only got maybe a mile on them. They do seem to have more "gription", which was the original reason for getting them ( no power brakes). The way I know they're better than the stock replacement pads I had on the car is, they made a slight pull to the right when braking into a MAJOR pull to the right. Everything else, like the hoses, seem OK so I suspected a caliper and got the brand new ones (not reman) on the car now but,,,,,,,,,I haven't got them bled yet and more than likely I'll have to wait for spring to try them out anyway. (read that as SALT).

    Got the brakes bled today, the old fashioned way since I forgot AGAIN to bring the pressure bleeder home so, I had a redhead female of the species work the pedal. Up, down, up, down, up, down...............Forecast is for 4-9" of shi,,,,,I mean snow Tuesday night so I figured it was today or nothing on any sort of road test.

    Only went up the street and back but it seemed to stop straight with no pulling and it stopped very good with reasonable pedal pressure. No two footing it needed.

    With the control arm shims, it's got a little bit of positive camber right now however, the toe is pretty much zero instead of the 1/2" toe out it was pre-shim, going by the tape measure method.

    I'll worry about bleeding the nasty crap out of the rear brakes later on this winter when I DO remember to bring the pressure bleeder. Probably do the fronts again also, just to be sure ALL that brown crap is out.

    I think that's what I'm going to get. The pressure bleeder works great but using it without getting fluid on anything is about impossible. At work it's no big deal, just spray it off with the water hose afterwards. On the Aspen, that's not an option,especially in the middle of winter. Plus, the Aspen is allergic to water, lol. Hasn't been wet from either rain or a hose since 1996. Color sanding the clear after painting is the exception to that but doesn't really count as getting wet since the car was a bare shell at the time.

    Speed bleeders on the way from Summit. Balanced the rear tires and they were as far off as the fronts were. Makes me sure the balancer I used when I originally mounted them was f****** up. I know tire balance changes over time A LITTLE BIT but not 3 or 4 ounces.

    Should ride / drive a 1,000% better!

    Year ago I had the same problem with the rear 335's on the Vette. It looked like one wheel had a pound of weights and the other a couple lead "squares." They re-positioned the tire on the wheel and the balance problem was resolved.
