I would think the core charge being cheap could mean they have enough on hand that they don`t really want anymore.

The day I feared was coming is getting closer. I should just buy a few sets and vacuum seal them in bags to place back in the boxes on the shelf. I've been saving cores from junkers I disassemble in a barrel. But I don't know some pace I can sell cores. Just figure they'll be there if I order before getting to a job, or need to learn to rebuild them. Either way they'll still serve a purpose.

Rock Auto does show the calipers,,,,,,,,,,,until you go to order them. Then a message comes up saying they're :unavailable at this time and have been removed from your cart". Plan B, order seal kits and new pistons. Pistons, either steel or phenolic are "unavailable at this time". All they have are the seal kits. Son of a................

Guess I'll try Autozone but fear just like Advance/Carquest, Napa and O'Reilly's, they will be listed in the on-line catalog but not actually be available from the store or be in any warehouse in the country. Rattle, you're right and this sucks. All I really need to do is clean the rust out of the bore and replace the pistons (along with the seals). Don't actually NEED the whole caliper. Those darn pistons have to be available somewhere. The left side is all scored up and don't want to reuse it (phenolic), haven't looked at the right side yet. I'd prefer the steel pistons but will take what I can find I suppose. Back to the original places and see if any of them can get the pistons.

DUH! Ebay, I forgot to check Ebay and a quick look shows all sorts of them and pistons too. Prices are on the high side but may not have a choice in the matter.

I just ordered a whole set from Ebay. Classic Performance Products. Calipers, pads, anti-rattle clips and hold down bolts. $112.10 out the door no shipping charges, no core charge and they are powder coated black. Just what I need.

Where did you find your calipers on Ebay? I looked and looked but didn't see any powder coated calipers listed or find Classic Performance Products listings.

Thanks! They do show none available at this time though.

However,,,,,,they do have uncoated ones so,,,,,,,,,,,,,order placed. I like the idea of NEW calipers vs. rebuilts with worn out castings. Don't need the included pads but for the price, it'd be good for just a pair of bare calipers.

Thanks again Mopar1 for the lead!

Good deal. I never knew anyone made them new. That is a breath of fresh air. Good to know someone realizes there is a need for quality new parts.

Yeah, I never would have guessed new ones were available or even ran across them accidentally. Guess it pays to know the right people, lol! (Mopars1 in this case).

I went ahead and said screw it, ordered the upper control arm shims from Ebay also. They've got free shipping and 10% off code so, what the heck. Still $75 for 4 metal plates with holes in them but, it is what it is. Yeah, I could have made them myself but I must be getting lazy in my old age or something.
