Got hit with the same thing yesterday. Doesn't look any nicer today, but at least it is dry. Yep. Inside work.

Got the float levels set this morning and a preliminary adjustment of the idle screws done by ear only. Went on a short test rid and think I'm going to like this carb. Only had a short window to do anything while everything was dry so I only went a couple miles but so far, so good. Going around 35 mph and I tromped on it. Pretty much resulted in tire smoke. DAMN! Seeing the dark gray clouds just to the west, the window started to close so the rest will have to wait. Looking at the forecast, wait means next Thursday and Friday and as luck would have it,,,,,,,,,,,I took both those days off from work so I hope the forecast is accurate. Next is a vacuum gauge and tach hooked up to do some fine tuning. According to the A/F gauge, it appears, right now, that the main jets are going to be good as is.

One last tweak. Adjusted the choke cap leaner. Noticed for the 1st minute or so after a cold start, WAY too rich. With less spring pressure, the choke plate opens more after start up, before the choke coil heats up, and it seems to be good to go now. Ran like a bad choke pull off diaphragm, if it had one.
