help on front spoiler install needed

I`m installing a new front spoiler (first place products) on my 77 volare. It mounts ok except the two front mounting brackets seem to line up with two large holes in the lower part of the core support. The directions say that the holes should be there but it`s no way they are the holes. Anyone have any pics? I really don`t want to have to weld those holes up and redrill. Also even if I clamp the brackets to the core support the brackets seem to need to be bent upwards from what it looks. Anyone install one of the new front spoilers on their car? Any issues?

The holes are oversize to accept a clip with room for adjustment. Same as a fender or rear spoiler.

Ok, cool on that. I wonder why the spoiler seems to be lower then it should be. Do I need to tweak the brackets some?

I went outside and looked in the parts bag that came with it. It had those bolts and nuts I needed for mounting. I was test fitting and I was using some nuts and bolts I had as I knew the OE used rivets and I didn`t want to use then until needed. Now I have to see why it is hanging to low. Thanks for the help.

That front spoiler has to be the #1 biggest pain in the butt of finishing one of these cars. Once you get the center mounts adjusted for height, then it's time to get the whole thing set side to side. So then it's on to adjusting the fender braces so the lower fenders have matched angles and the spoiler isn't hanging off to one side or the other and the end flares aren't at different angles despite being riveted to the middle section. It's no wonder I'd owned a couple dozen of these cars before even seeing one that had clip scars on the lower core support paint. My local parts counter guy had me convinced that the front spoiler was an option on the option and that's why none had it back then. I'm certain now that dealers were taking them straight out of the trunks and putting them into inventory to ship and sell for breakage replacement at dealers that were installing them.

Got it on and looking good. I had to tweak the mounting brackets some. The new brackets didn`t match a original one I had. Thanks for the help. Mike
