But there's something to be said about putting along just enjoying the local area too.
I used to put a ton more miles on per year than I do now. Adding up all 3 vehicles, my total yearly anymore is less than 10,000. When I was in my early 20's, I put 50,000 miles on one car ('73 Satellite Sebring Plus) in a single year. Guess the older you get, the less you drive. My dad bought the 2012 Charger new and it now has a whopping 5,307 miles on it, and it was the only car he drove from July 9, 2012 to August 15, 2021. Where my brother and his wife live, over in Zimmerman MN (it's going to be his car now) he'll double that amount in a 3 or 4 months. Zimmerman is a small town 30 or so miles NNW of Minneapolis, and he works in Minneapolis so 5 days a week, it's at least 75 miles/day.

One other thing age related, and hope I'm not the only one, is you can't go as far between bathroom breaks as you once did. Makes long distance trips even longer, what with stopping every hour to "whip it out". Have I ever mentioned how getting older really sucks in a lot of ways?

I haven't been bitten by the old age frequent bathroom visits while on the road. I will be 68 in 8 days and can go hours before having to stop. Now, if I drank a bunch of beer it may make a difference!

Maybe I just drink too much Cool-Ade, water and soda all the time. Everything is perfectly fine with "the equipment" according to the urologist. Still, I always want to know where the rest stops or secluded roads are. Of course, you can go an hour without seeing one single other car or person but the second you "whip it out", there WILL be a car coming, guaranteed! Same deal if your out walking in the woods. I guess, if they see something they don't want to see, they can just look away, right?

You are correct on that point. Now, if I were to drink a bunch of coffee............different story.

Oh I make lousy time travelling in the morning. I stop every two hours to let another mug full of coffee off. By afternoon I'm flying down the road all the way back home or wherever I'm going though. The part that gets to me is the road food. I can't eat it. Too much salt and bad additives at any food chain that's near a highway exit. Not even Subway is safe with their salty meats and sugary breads. Makes my whole body feel off and that slows me down out of personal concern more than having to stop to pee. I have to starve myself all day unless I've found somewhere safe to consume what they make or pack sandwiches that aren't made with a bunch of junk along for the ride.

Jonesy's Junction bi-annual, Missing Link Mopars, Aspen & Volare, Alphabet group Get Together, was last weekend. Rain and threatening weather but plenty of folks showed up from four states to hang out with friends!

Since the whip it out season is getting dangerously close to an end, the plan right now is to take the Aspen to work on Monday. It's SUPPOSED to be a bright, sunny, clear day with a high of close to 70.
