Well I'll be darned if gas didn't go up to $2.59 all of a sudden at some point during the day.

It was hanging at $2.09 til last week. Then overnight it jumped to $2.55 and has settled back to $2.39 most places. But I've found it at $2.29 yesterday and saw the same a few more places while I was on the road earlier today. I'm not much of one for government intrusion in most instances but the petroleum price really should be re-regulated. Not nationalized like Venezuela, but regulated. It just isn't right to have a population forced by necessity to purchase a product that's not priced by the actual market which uses the product but rather by Wall Street commodity traders who are covering their shorts and raping us. At this point I think somebody should step in and say enough is enough, this is nonsense. There is not one other item which we even semi regularly purchase which has such a volatile price fluctuation.

I hadn't been paying much attention but at some point in the past few days, it went up to $2.69

They claim the price increase is because they're switching from winter blend to summer blend, which costs more to make,,,,,,,,,,,they claim.

Yep. And in the autumn when the price goes up they will tell us it is because they are switching from summer to winter blend and the winter costs more to make. Also, when I get elected I will cut taxes.

I heard a rumor that it was from OPEC cutting production to get the prices up. I am betting we are going to see $3 a gallon soon that will be around for a while.

Prices will probably go up because of a proposed shortage. Not even a real one. I guess the billions in profits isn`t enough for the big wigs at the oil companies to be happy.
