I think the county and municpalities are done with salt and brine for the season around here. Last Friday we got rain and then it snowed overnight, along with the temp going below freezing and they didn't do anything to the roads (as far as I saw). They were all covered with ice Saturday morning and it only melted after the sun got a bit higher in the sky and the temp crept above 32. Traffic on the freeway by my house looked to be going maybe 30 or 35 mph. Wanted to go to the grocery store early and get back home before 7am, before the huddled masses come out and Rib Mountain Drive becomes Rib Mountain stop and go (stop and go, stop and go.........), and I got up to nearly 25 mph at one point, lol. Slippery doesn't begin to describe it yet,,,,,,,,,,NO SALT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Huge rave. Sunshine, 65 degrees, next to no wind,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,holy you know what does it feel nice!

Rant. After the past couple weeks at work with one big, heavy, physical job after another (replacing a 5.0L engine in a '13 F150, 5.3L in a '15 GMC Sierra, trans in an AWD '04 Ford Escape, timing chains on a 3.5 Ecoboost '13 F150, etc, etc, etc), everything hurts. Arms, back, legs, chest muscles, that I didn't get anywhere close to the work done out in the yard that I wanted to. This getting older crap sucks.. Guess that's also a rant.

It gets worse? lol I've got 10 years to go to hit 67 and am not looking forward to it. Dang,,,,,,,,,,being 67 is only 10 years away? It's true what they say about the older you get, the faster time goes by and I don't like it one little bit.

Been an auto tech for 37 years now (holy crap, time thing again) and that job does take it's toll. Then again, I know people with office type jobs the same age as I am, and they're in worse condition. Not only aches and pains but other medical issues as well, from lack of physical exercise, i.e. sitting at a desk 8 hours a day then going home and sitting on their fat ass on the sofa. A lot of the damage was done while I worked at the Ford dealership. The last few years was mostly things like F350 diesel trucks and other Super Duty's. That's how my back got messed up, lifting a steel rim F350 wheel/tire onto the balancer one day. Everything on those trucks is big and extremely heavy. Torqueing head bolts on the 6.0 Powerstroke would give you a stroke. IIRC they have 16mm bolts and you torque to 80 ft lbs, then 90 degrees, then another 90 degrees and (the worst one), another 90 degrees. One guy holding the socket on the bolt, while you pull on a 6 foot bar to get that last 90 degrees. Son of a................... And you know what a wonderful, trouble free engine the 6.0L was, lol. If I never do headgaskets on one of those again, it'll be too soon. Anyways, regardless of everything, I think I'm doing pretty darn good for 57, compared to a lot of people younger than I am.. Now watch, I'll drop dead tomorrow......................If I do, just hope it's quick with no warning.
