We've got catch cables in the median out on the Interstate and freeways. Keeps vehicles from ending up in the oncoming lanes when they go off the left side of the road. It's steel posts maybe 4 feet high, concreted 4 feet in the ground every 50 feet with 3 heavy cables strung between them. Very effective.

I remember seeing a car go off the Interstate on the south side, right over a 20 foot sheer rock cliff and ALMOST end up in the oncoming lanes. At that spot, north bound I-39 is 20 feet higher than southbound. There's a guard rail in that area now, but 20 years ago, there was nothing but air (and then CRUNCH), lol.

A rave for once. Last Wednesday evening I heard the "scratch, scratch, scratch" of a mouse in the living room ceiling. 'Tis the season...... I set up a couple traps outside to get them before they come in. Over the years I found a couple traps set up on the NW corner of the house will catch mice. Anywhere else and nothing. So far it's been 3 nights, 2 traps, 5 mice. Filthy, disease ridden, bug eyed rodents,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,DIE! So, you like peanut butter? Here mousy, mousy..........LOL

Just almost hit another deer! Dang! That would have been THREE on the year, and this one would have actually cost me a deductible since my regular car is still in being fixed from the 2nd and I didn't get the extra insurance on the loaner.

A couple days ago on the way home from work, I came THIS close to t-boning a deer. I saw it at the last second standing by the road and I barely had time to react and go for the brakes before it decided "I think I'll cross the road now". Big son of a bean with a huge rack. More like a small elk than a deer. No idea how I missed it and it couldn't have been by more than 6 inches. That'll get the ol' heart pumping.

Repairs would be all on me, the Dakota doesn't have collision of comprehensive obviously, being 24 years old with 170,000 miles, (just liability, uninsured/under insured motorist, etc)
