I`d just call those kinds of drivers "Job Security". Since I work on industrial equipment I always say "As long as there`s operators then I`m never going to have to worry about a lack of work".

Broken cars are like death and taxes and if they weren't,,,,,,,,,,,,I'd be out of a job. Now, if we could just do something about the rust problem, my job would be MUCH easier and we wouldn't be next door at Carquest getting replacement gas cylinders for the torch every other week. Heat the fastener red hot and remove it (hopefully). Heat the next fastener and remove, heat the next one and remove, lather, rinse, repeat. Of course then there's the fastener you heat almost to the point of melting and it still won't come out or worse, it snaps off and it's a blind hole or, it has a weld nut that breaks loose and there's no access to said weld nut. Son of a..........Now that IS a rant!

There never is a lack of work. We've been swamped steady for at least the past 2 years and usually are booked a week out for anything other than oil changes or fixing a tire. That's a good thing but it would be nice to have a slow day once in a while where you can relax a bit. Darn thriving economy anyways, lol!

Heating bolts/screws in a throttle body is very exciting hoping the throttle body doesn't get ruined.

Yes it is, not that I've ever been forced to do that. Oh wait, yes I have.

Haha! Sleeping flat on your back for the next week. I've learned to be comfortable that way by blowing a fan on myself but slowed by bouncing it off the wall toward me, to circulate the air rather than keep breathing the same air depleted of oxygen as it cools and floats back down to me after being exhaled but not moving away. Guess figuring that out could be a Rave! Much more comforatable.

One problem, I have NEVER been able to sleep on my back. Just isn't comfortable at all, no matter what the circumstances. All I know is colds suck, cough, cough, cough, hack, cough, sneeze, sneeze, cough.

Guess it's a good day to lay on the couch and watch Doctor Who on BBCA all day, in between naps and sneezes that is.

Just when all the primary roads and most of the secondary ones were clear of snow and ice (and salty water and slush) from the last snow storm,,,,,,,,,,it just HAD to snow 2" this morning and slop them all up again.

I've got a rant to vent. Why did some manufacturer's decide to eliminate radiator petcock's? Used to be, you'd open it up and neatly drain the coolant into a pan. Now you have to disconnect the lower radiator hose and I don't care how careful you are, there is going to be coolant everywhere, on the floor and on parts of the car. In other words, mess. It was bad enough when trans pan drain plugs went away and TC drain plugs. What next, no engine oil drain plug? It's just stupid. Speaking of transmissions and engines, what was wrong with fluid level dipsticks? Very few trans have an actual dipstick and a majority of those don't even have a fill tube. There are engines with no dipsticks. You have to check level on the center display screen and it will only display the level if certain conditions have been met, such as oil temp, time since engine shut down, etc., and some (Audi comes to mind) won't allow an oil level display if the freaking hood is open (WTF?). Used to be, drain the oil, change the filter, put the proper amount of oil in, start it, shut it off, wait a minute and pull the stick, done. Now you also need to reset the stupid oil change reminder and there's 87 different procedures used depending on make, model and year. BTW, if you wait until the display says "Oil Change Required" instead of looking at the oil change sticker in the upper corner of the windshield, you've waited WAY too long, trust me. I call oil change reminders "job security". Tire rotation used to be, pull the wheels, move them to the other position and bolt back on, done. Now,,,,,,,,,,,,you also get the Bartec TPMS tool and relearn the sensor positions and reset the system and then you're done. Ain't the modern automobile just grand? There, I feel much better after venting, lol!
