Rave for once. Doc hooked the tendon back together and it was no big deal. Next week the stitches come out and this big club hand from the bandages and splint and i get a removable splint to wear. All to restrict finger movement while it heals, Does suck trying to do everything with my left hand only, including typing, but it'll be good in the end. Since it was an extensor tendon that severed, the recovery time is much less than if it was a retractor. Way less tension on an extensor. Been practicing printing with my left hand using a crossword puzzle book. Not going too bad at all, surprisingly enough. Can't wait until the pen goes in the write hand again however!

I step away for a couple minutes and people are falling apart!!! :-) Happy to hear things are going better for you.

I head in on the 22nd for another (this will be the 6th) surgery on the left arm; so I will be seeing pink elephants for little while.

My hand isn't even really sore, surprisingly enough. Turns out, I have to have all this bandage/splint on my hand for 2 weeks, not one. Necessity is the mother of invention as they say. Was trying to open a jar with no luck. Seems theyre made for 2 hands so,,,,,,,,,,,light bulb, went out to the garage and got a quick-clamp. Put it on the jar, brace it against my belly and, cap screwed right off. Of course this had to happen when Linda is out of town, on a job, until Thanksgiving Eve. I'm already all antsy from not being able to really do many things. Bored may be the correct term to use.

Sometime's you wonder. Go years with little to no bad things happening, then within 2 1/2 months my dad passes away, his house gets flooded from the blown up toilet valve and water pours out full blast for upward's of a week, and now this. At least the house is being taken care of by some really good contractors and excellent insurance company, and the tendon reattachment went without a hitch so, I guess it isn't so bad, with the exception of dad passing that is.

The tendon repair was almost a breeze, done in an exam room, and didn't take long at all. I walked off the elevator on the 3rd floor at 11am, got to orthopedics at 11:06 and was going back into the elevator at 1:15pm to come back home. The doc obviously knew what he was doing, as he should. His specialty is hand surgery after all!

WOW! I finally got to see the doc today after waiting nearly a month to get in. It did not go like your appointment. Come to think of it, my own ortho appointments over the summer didn't either. It's always a guaranteed 45 minutes plus, no matter who you're seeing for whatever...

We have excellent health care systems and providers here. Rarely have I had to wait more than few minutes past the appt time. The ER took a long time but that's different. they got me into one of the rooms (think there are 16 in total at Weston medical complex hospital/clinic/diagnostic and treatment center) in a few minutes after arriving but the ER docs were busy with critical patients. A laceration takes a back seat to patient's with life threating conditions like heart attack, stroke or severe trauma, as you'd expect. Even the few times I've had to go to one of the walk-in's, the wait was usually fairly short.

Rant. WTF is wrong with people at this date in history to bring themself and their spouse to work when both very ill. Took a couple hours for everyone to get them to leave. Not soon enough. I have the rona again. Feels so great!
My quads haven't felt like this since jogging for 6 hours at camp. Otherwise, so far, just 100.8 fever about 18 hours in.
