    Pitman arm NOS mopar

I have a NOS pitman arm I was going to install on my car. It didn`t have a original box. The cast number on it was 3815778. I assumed it was the correct one for power steering 3815777 but the shaft size is too small. I assume it is for manual steering??? 3815780??? I would like to ID it as I have no need for it and would sell it cheap.

The parts catalog I have shows 3815777 for power steering and 3815780 for manual steering also. No mention of 3815778 p/n.
At some point in the early '70's they made the pitman shaft larger on p/s but kept manual the same size, don't know when that happened. The casting number would put it first used around 1974(?) From what I find, they didn't start 1970 off with 31XXXXXX, they started with 34XXXXXX for some reason.

Of course, the casting number and p/n aren't always one and the same and can be one or more numbers off from each other. So,,,,,,,,,,,,,my GUESS is you are right about the 778 being for manual steering. Just a guess though.

Many times the casting number is a number or two off the part number so I assumed it was the 3815777.
