New to F-bodies, not new to Mopars

Though I owned an A-body with an F-body A833OD, I have never actually owned an F-body until yesterday. I now have a 1978 Volaré Premier wagon. Super-six, A833OD, PS, PDB, AC. I am the third owner, and the previous owner bought it second-hand in 1980 from a car lot in the AZ desert.

It was fairly loved-up, but looks good from 20 feet away, the way a non-car guy tries to be a car guy in doing some things (IMHO) wrong. It has an engine that was professionally (and documented so) rebuilt 39,000 miles ago.

My plans are to eventually have it repainted properly (the same color), delete the Premier exterior trim, find an older slant to build a mild but beefier engine (I know, V8, right? I love Slants!), and drive it.

I haven't decided if I want to de-option it a bit. I much prefer manual steering and no AC, but we'll see.

I had a set of police wheels and caps I put on when I got it home.

    Looks Great!

Just me, but I like AC, and Cruise.

Welcome to the F-body and Slant Six communities.

Nice looking car. You can get a good running 225 with a lot of power and still be streetable. Welcome.
