    BTW, To answer the OP question. I believe the shield is there to keep engine oil off the the hot part of the intake.
    I only remember because it's a size of bolt I torque all the time at work, except they're metric not SAE. They're always either 96 in lbs or 106 in lbs, depending on the grade of the bolt.

    Did you find a source for BBD choke parts that actually work? I have a full manual electric choke heater on mine for lack of parts.
