Trying to insert picture of stripped out interior of this 1979 Volare. When we took out the carpet and pad, we found that almost all of the pad was damp--and the carpet was completely shot. There were only a few small rust holes where water could have penetrated--and I think the windows have a decent seal/weatherstripping. Anyone have experience dealing with this sort of thing? Thanks.

Rear quarter window seals would be the first place I`d look.

Good thing you don't have T-Tops. How is the rest of the floor look in the car? I might be able to help you with some floor pan sections if needed

Thanks for the ideas. Turns out that they are ALL probably correct! We had a good rain yesterday and with the carpet out, I could see where the water got through--rear quarter window seals, door seals and under the dash on both sides. Looks like putting the new carpet in is going to have to wait, eh.

Thanks for the floor pan offers. The floor is surprisingly decent--a few spots are rusted through behind the front seats, but mostly solid. Bunch of extra holes to fit in different seats. There's an issue where the driver's side seatbelt connects to the transmission hump--the anchor plate is off and there's a bit of, uh, extra ventilation. Found a guy who says he can fix this; if that doesn't work out, I might take you up on those floor pans. Thanks again.

Do you still need seats? I have a black set of buckets and rear seat from a '77 Road Runner.

I have black vinyl buckets and the black vinyl bottom of the backseat out of a '79 Roadrunner. Would be interested in a back seat top in black vinyl; might take the whole back seat if you don't want to separate. I could include a full blue/gray seat in the deal if that helps. Just let me know.
