Like you I'm rolling up on six decades of wisdom and have installed plugs in everything from model planes, mowers, bikes, tractors and cars and have almost always gone with the "its tight enough" with plugs. As long as the crush was seats well it should be fine. Even if I wanted to I could not get a torque wrench close to the plugs because of the engine bay geometry and headers. Before I connect the plug wires I may try to snug the a little more, what could go wrong.........

Earlier I was mounting the MSD SS Blaster Coil and of course dropped one of the vibration mounts into the abyss between the block and transmission.... Still need to hit that area with compressed air to see if I can knock it down. Amazon has the set of three from MSD for $20! Before I order I'll run to my local hardware tomorrow to see what they have, I believe it is an M8 metric. Lowes and HD really have cut back on their specialty fasteners, so I won't waste a trip there.

My go to source for specialty fasteners locally is our Ace Hardware store over in Weston. The place is HUGE and has everything. It's one of those places you almost need GPS in so you won't get lost, lol! The fastener section seems to go on forever. Every screw, bolt, nut (etc) in SAE or metric in grade 2, 5, 8, steel, stainless, brass. hex. allen, Torx, phillips, slotted...........Clips for days, pins, set screws, u-nuts, pal nuts,,,,,,on and on and on. If they don't have what you need, Fastenal probably does but it's not very convenient to go to, or to get to for that matter.

Menard's used to have a good selection but not so much anymore. I mean, they've got a good selection but none of it is really intended for automotive use. Understandable since it's a home and building store. The parts store next to work HAD a big selection when it was Carquest. Since Advance Auto Parts bought Carquest, the selection SUCKS. All they have pretty much are prepackaged Dorman products. and all Made In China. No thank you. Off topic rant. Advance Auto took an awesome store and ruined it.
