Similar here with the lake and general topography of the nearby river valley. Warm water means warm air and the snow we got Sunday didn't stick long. But the warm air over the water seems to run in a diagonal line to the warm air up over the ridge, pushing the cold air inland where we're at just under the ridge, to over simplify it. It's typically 5 to 10 degrees cooler at home than at other places we go nearby. Same deal as it warms up. Warm over the ridge, warm as it heats up the water, still stays cooler here at home.

The ground isn't frozen yet and it was warm enough (just) that all our snow melted. Went to bed last night and there was snow on the ground, and on the north side of my roof. Woke up this morning and you'd never know it had snowed. Works for me!

Took another use it or get the sucker check, day off on Wednesday as the best weather coming this week. Pretty breezy mid 60's in a t-shirt doing the pre winter oil changes on the dailies and moving the last of things around to be locked in position for the season. Got the black Chryslers lined up in front of the garage. Grabbed a pic before grabbing the covers. Got my winter coat out last night then because of all this chilling wind. Woke up to 30 and grauple. There's a word for ya. Webster says it's been in use since 1889, but I'd never heard it cross any local meteorologists lips before a few years ago.

After taking the cover off the Doba inside the garage to give another the preferential parking and still have a winter work bay on the other side, I dusted it and cleaned the windows before putting the cover on. There was a little dust, but now it's under the outdoor cover. And as I did the windshield I realized again from the event stickers that I built that car six whole years ago now! Hard to imagine it's been that long ago. I was so much younger and energetic then than being mid 50's with a heart condition... Don't remember if I told the story without going to look but would imagine I shared. There's a ton of nos on that car. A good bit of it from Marty. He was practically giving the stuff away back then! Of course I'm particularly proud of the high level of detail under the hood too. And it's sure interesting that today they still remain what F-bodies used to be in the value category. Great cars, but aside from a few out there, a really nice one like this with a big block and no rust can still be had for $6-8K or so. I finally got a proper set of incorrect for this model SQUARE mirrors too. Those standard remotes have always looked stupid to me with all the squared off but voluptuous features of this car or on any 78-79. I can see putting Sport Mirrors on a Magnum because it's a Dodge. A Chrysler should have a more dignified appearance. Like both of the cars flanking it. Boy did I have a difficult time finding perfect chrome mirrors. It wasn't truly expensive to finally get two. I was just amazed how long it took to find them both given that they were in production from 77-89.

    Anyhow, the weather. Yeah... Bleah.

I just saw a nearly identical Doba for sale. Normally I do my best not to look at stuff for sale. But I still see a few anyhow. Looked and sounded like it was in great shape. Think he wanted 6 and it's in South Dakota. I could look it up again if you'd be interested.
