Supposed to be a high of 40 today, along with an inch of rain. Then temps dropping and 2-3" of snow into tonight. Tomorrow,,,,,,the first day of spring,,,,,,,mid 20's with 25-35 mph north west winds, gusting to 45 mph. What a fine way to start spring. Friggin' winter doesn't know when to just let it go already.

We got a little snow freezing rain and power failure. So I'm on a mountain top freezing so I can keep fueling the generator so people can have internet.

We got an inch of rain yesterday, which is awesome when the ground is still frozen and it doesn't soak in. Then it got really cold and it froze into a sheet of ice and THEN,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,it snowed an inch on top of it, followed by wind out of the NW at 20-35 mph all day. It's been a few weeks of good driving but today another morning of driving to work at 40 mph max, and quite a bit slower than that on the curves. Welcome to the 1st day of spring, lol! "Best" part is, lows in the single digits tonight. Yee-haw! Oh well, it is what it is.

All the rain made a good start on washing the salt away. Because of all the ice, what got washed away was reapplied. Now we have to start all over from scratch. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

We're having deja-vu. Just like last Thursday, today it's raining with 1 to 1 1/2" predicted and then, when the temp drops into the 20's tonight, it'll freeze and THEN they predict 2-4" of snow overnight. So, all the salt that got washed away by the rain, will probably be put right back in the morning

Woo-hoo! They were wrong. Never went below freezing last night like the forecast said, hence no ice which means no road salt spread, and no snow either(!)

After 9" of snow Sunday night, it hasn't got above freezing yet this week. This morning at sunrise it was a balmy 9 degrees With the ground warm(ish) and some sunshine, a lot of the snow did melt already. Still, there's something so wrong about ice dams and icicles in the middle of April. Biggest downside is, our nice salt-free roads are not salt free anymore. Now we have to start all over again and wait for some rain to wash it away before the cars can come out. Supposed to by in the 50's Saturday though!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure where that board impaled in the ground (behind the tree) came from. We did have 30-40 mph winds that gusted to 55+ on Monday which would explain random debris.
